Bio:

Stefan was born and grew up in Dresden, Germany, where he started road and track cycling in 1992 as a 11-year old - inspired by watching the cycling events of the Barcelona Summer Olympics that year. Under the guidance of his former coaches, Stefan developed quickly into a solid racer. As a Junior rider he competed in multiple Junior World Cup races around Europe. Once in the U23 category, he got to experience the cobbles of Belgium and The Netherlands, climbed the mountains in the Austrian and Switzer Alps, and visited exotic places like Tunesia or Dominican Republic to compete in various UCI races.

After a year of studying Sports Science and Latin America Studies at the University of Bielefeld, Germany, Stefan accepted a cycling scholarship from Midwestern State University (MSU) in Wichita Falls, TX, in order to continue his education and race on the collegiate level.  Just two years later, in 2005, he received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from MSU and later moved to Austin, TX.

Stefan brings a lot of international racing experience with him, having visited more than 20 countries on 4 continents for racing and training. He is a member of the ELBOWZ Racing Cycling Team and competes in Texas, and select National Racing Calendar (NRC) races throughout the year.

Stefan has been a member of USA Cycling, the USA Cycling Coaching Association and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) for more than three years. In 2007, he was involved in founding the Wichita Falls High School Cycling Team. Over the last 15 years he served multiple times as an Assistant Coach at USA Cycling Regional Talent ID Camps (road & track) in Lubbock, Austin, Frisco, and Wichita Falls, TX. From October 2007 until September 2008 he worked as a Staff Consultant at an Austin-based coaching company before starting his own business in October 2008.

His ability to communicate well with athletes of all ability-levels makes it easy for clients to work with him and his coaching philosophies. He believes that a strong mind is the foundation for a strong body and athletic success. Stefan’s background is not limited to road cycling only, as he competes regularly on the track and collected multiple podium finishes at Collegiate Track National Championships and won a US Elite National Championship in the Men's Team Pursuit in 2013. In the off-season, he can also be seen at local 5K runs, Sprint Triathlons or CycloCross races.

While going back to school for his Masters of Education in Sport Administration, he went on to claim the 2016 USA Cycling National Collegiate D1 Road Race, Individual Time Trial, and Omnium Championship for Midwestern State University in Mars Hill, NC.
